Nina Dobrev and Shaun White are hitting a 360 with their romance.
Indeed, the Vampire Diaries alum and Olympic gold medalist are turning the 2024 Paris Olympics—including the Opening Ceremony and other events—into an international date for the ages.
The couple of nearly five years stopped by the red carpet for the Opening Ceremony July 26 in perfectly coordinated get-ups to see Team USA and 183 other nations travel along the Seine to mark the beginning of the games—as well as a performance from Lady Gaga.
Although he officially retired after the 2022 Beijing Winter Games, Shaun channeled his snowboarding roots in an all-white look. He paired a puffy jacket with a polo shirt and jeans. For her part, Nina also went for mostly white with a T-shirt, jean skirt and loafers, but added a bit of flair with a black and biker jacket, a black shoulder bag, and some white-framed black shades.
As an Olympic athlete in five Winter Games over the years, watching the action from the sidelines alongside Nina has been something Shaun has been looking forward to for a while.
“I told her, I was like, ‘Look, after the Olympics, I finally got my freedom to do whatever, let's just have fun and be together and support each other.’” he gushed to People in 2022, noting he felt “no pressure” to propose to the actress. “We’re just enjoying our time right now.”
And Shaun and Nina are enjoying everything Paris has to offer. The pair also stepped out at The Prelude To The Olympics At Fondation Louis Vuitton July 25 and their outfits in and of themselves could qualify for a medal. After all, Shaun was suave in an all-beige suit—complete with a matching tie and shirt. The 37-year-old paired his subdued look with a pair of brown loafers and a slicked back hairstyle.
Nina, meanwhile, understood the assignment in a sheer gold top paired with a black leather skirt and jacket. She completed her look with her signature blunt bangs straightened, and a simple black clutch.
The Louis Vuitton event—which also saw stars like Zendaya, Sophia Bush, Mick Jagger and more in attendance—was just part of the couple’s Parisian fun as they were out and about in the French capital before the Games.
Prior to the beginning of the Opening Ceremony, the couple was spotted out and about in the French city in coordinating looks. And even when they’re not red carpet ready, Shaun and Nina are dressing to impress.
Shaun wore red pants with a white polo, while Nina sported a red polo—a near perfect match to the color of her boyfriend’s trousers—along with a black tennis skirt.
One more accessory that Nina has to rock? A cane. The 35-year-old is still recovering from a leg injury she first opened up about in June, and although she’s made massive strides in her journey—which she’s documented on social media—she’s been using the extra support throughout her time in Paris so far.
Of course, Nina and Shaun aren’t the only celebrities showing their support for the athletes. Keep reading for more star sightings at the 2024 Olympics.
